Guidelines for submitting a call for papers
For themed issues, a call for papers must be submitted to the editorial board of Mi journal by August 15 of each year. If the proposal is accepted in the fall, it will be posted on the Mi journal website for at least six months.
Selected manuscripts will undergo a review process similar to that of the process for manuscripts submitted outside of special issues, in accordance the rules of double-blind peer review.
Guest editors must be affiliated with at least two different academic institutions and two different countries. If the candidates are early career researchers, they cannot submit a proposal unless they are working with a senior colleague who has previously coordinated this type of special issue for a journal of comparable standing. The team of guest editors must demonstrate the project’s scientific nature, managerial perspective, and international scope.
For special issues, the organizers of a scientific conference must have received approval from the editorial board prior to the event. To this end, it is important that they submit their proposal to the editorial board of Mi following the same requirements as for a thematic issue.
The selection of manuscripts by the organizers (guest editors) constitutes the first step in the editorial process. This will be followed by a peer review following the rules of double-blind review (three reviewers per manuscript). The process is managed centrally by Mi.
